들어가며

24년 2월 2주차의 영어 어휘 정리를 시작하려고 합니다. 이번 주에도 꾸준하게 전화 영어 수업을 수강했습니다. 꾸준한 전화 영어도 좋지만 곧 결과를 내야 하지 않을까 하는 생각도 하고 있습니다. 몇 년전 OPIC 시험에서는 열심히 공부하고도 공부 안했을 때와 동일한 성적이 나왔던 쇼크를 겪었는데 이번에는 어떨지?... 우선 24년 2월 2주차의 영어 어휘 정리 START!

 

TOPIC 1: TV

  1. 어휘 정리

    1) TV Show의 Type과 관련된 명사

        : variety / reality show / talk show / news / weather forecast / cartoon / drama series / documentary show / (audience) rating / theme music / song / boradcasting

    2) TV에 등장하는 사람들

        : celebrity / entertainer / comedian / talent / host / guest / anchor / announcer(əˈnaʊnsə(r)) / actor

    3) Show와 관계된 동사

        : be on [channel] or [day] or [time] / air (live) [channel] or [day] or [time] / (come to an) end(끝나다)

    4) 사람 또는 Show와 관계된 동사

        : be on TV / be on the show [subject] / appear in / appear on / play the character / role of [role name] / host / interview / cover / report / focus on

    5) 나에 대한 동사

        : be a big fan of / try not to miss the show / recommend [program] to [person] / be interested in / get interested in / lost interest in

    6) Show와 관계된 형용사

        : popular / beloved / most-viewed / entertaining / enjoyable / captivating(매혹적인) / fascinating(대단히 흥미로운) / educational / helpful / mundane(mʌnˈdeɪn, 재미없는) / ordinary / trivial(ˈtrɪviəl, 사소한) / crucial(중대한) / significant / complicated / complex

The gym close to my house will be closed.

 

   3) Idiom (관용구)

Idiom Meaning
Dead meat a promise that you will easily defeat someone or that you will be easily defeated (see eat you for breakfast)

 

   4) Idiom Example

     : The boy know he was dead meat when he saw that his opponent was much older and stronger than he was.

 

 

TOPIC 2: FAMILY & FRIEND

  1. 어휘 정리

    1) 직업에 관계된 명사

        : graduate student / company worker / civil servant(공무원) / public servant(공무원) / housewife

    2) Topics of conversation

        : work: boss / coworker(colleague) / school: assignment(과제?) / professor / latest news / politics: election / candidate / economy: stock / housing market(주택 시장) / environment: global warming / scandals of actors / scandals of celebrities

    3) Chat하는 방법

        : text message / application

    4) 내 친구에 관계된 동사

        : met in [elementary/middle/high] school / live [time] away from [place] / go to [school] / study at [school] / work for a company / work for the government / have known each other for [times] years

    5) 우리에 관계된 동사

        : talk about [topic] / chat about [topic] / have a conversation on / have a conversation about / talk to each other / complain about [topic] / let [person] know / let [person] share

    6) 내 친구에 관계된 동사2

        : be (deeply/so much) into / care about / spend free time -ing / be good at / be a good listener / be in a relationship

    7) 친구와 하는 활동 동사 (with/to friends)

        : chat on the smartphone / send messages / type(타자를 치다)

    8) 내 친구의 외모에 관계된 형용사

        : be a lot taller than [person[ / good-looking / attractive / adorable(əˈdɔːrəbl, 사랑스러운) / athletic(몸이 탄탄한) / muscular / well-built / skinny / slim / plump(plʌmp, 통통한) / stylish

    9) 내 친구의 성격에 관계된 형용사

    10) Topic에 대한 형용사

   3) Idiom (관용구)

Idiom Meaning
Walking on thin ice when someone is about to get in trouble

 

   4) Idiom Example

     : The player had not done very well for the team and the coach said he was on thin ice and that he might replace him.

 

 

2월 2주차에는 TV와 FAMILY & FRIEND에 관한 영어 어휘를 배워보았다. 올해 영어 공부를 꾸준히 할 수 있도록 계속 노력하자!!
