들어가며

24년 3월 2주차의 영어 어휘 정리를 시작합니다. 3월 2주차에는 BANK와 TRANSPORTATION에 관한 어휘를 학습했습니다.

 

TOPIC 1: BANK

  1. 어휘 정리

    1) 은행 서비스에 관한 명사

        : mobile / Internet banking / bankbook / bank account / waiting number (ticket) / balance = how much money I have / ID (card) / proof of employment / digital certificate

    2) Advanced + 명사 의 형태로 사용되는 명사

        : saving plan / interest rate(이율) / financial product / investment service / loan offer / (income tax) deduction(공제)

    3) 나의 행동에 관한 동사

        : open a bank account / send money / transfer money / withdraw money / wait on a couch(kaʊtʃ, 긴 의자) / issue (a document) / be recommended for(추천을 받다)

    4) 은행에 관계된 형용사

        : spotless('spɑːtləs, 티끌 하나 없는) / impeccably clean (나무랄 데 없이 깨끗한) / pleasant

    5) 고용인/업무에 관한 형용사

        : fast / hardworking / efficient

   3) Idiom (관용구)

Idiom	Meaning
bite the bullet	to endure(인내하다) a painful experience that you cannot avoid.

 

   4) Idiom Example

     : When the time comes, I'll bite the bullet and take my punishment without a fuss(호들갑).

 

 

TOPIC 2: TRANSPORTATION

  1. 어휘 정리

    1) 교통 수단에 관계된 명사

        : (public) transportation / means of transportation / express(급행) bus / express(급행) train / bus stop / subway station / passenger ↔ driver / waiting time = how long I should wait 

    2) 교통 수단에 관계된 명사2

        : gasoline / gas station / highway / curb / parking lot / parking space

    3) 나에 관계된 동사

        :drive one's own car / drive along(~을 따라 운전하다) / give [person] a ride / park / refuel / fuel up / fill up (with gas)

    4) 대중교통에서의 나에 관계된 동사

        : move / get around / travel / take [transportation] / use [transportation] / transfer from A to B / change (to) [transporation] / switch (to) [transporation] / stop at / near / get on ↔ get off + [transporation]

    5) 문제에 관계된 동사

        : miss [transportation] / get carsick(차멀미를 하다) / run out of gas / be out of order / malfunction / break / have / get into a car accident 

    6) 교통 수단에 관계된 형용사

        : punctual(ˈpʌŋktʃuəl, 시간을 지키는) / frequent / well-organized / systematic

    7) It was [형용사] 형태로 쓰이는 형용사

        : scratched / dented(움푹 들어간) / crushed / steaming / flat

    8) 내 기분에 관한 형용사

        : embarrassed (당황한) / upset / puzzled / panicked

I search word dictionary. It's not too much popular inKorea. Not everywhere organized. I feel difficult move around. When I go to somewhere. Always I search parking place. I had problem when I travel Seoul first time.	I searched for the word in the dictionary. It's not oo pouplar in Korea. Not everywhere is organized. It's difficult to move around. When I go somewhere. I always search for a parking space. I had a problem when I traveled to Seoul for the first time.

 

   3) Idiom (관용구)

Idiom	Meaning
use your loaf	To tell someone to use their brain more in analysing what they are doing.

 

   4) Idiom Example

     : I do not like it that you talk about people's disabilities so soften. You ought to use your loaf and understand that you may be hurting someone's sentiments.
